Dr. Kai Rou Tey is a board-certified transplant hepatologist at Arizona Liver Health. Triple board-certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Transplant Hepatology, she provides comprehensive care for patients with complex liver disease, including those undergoing liver transplantation.
A dedicated clinician-educator and researcher, she has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and case reports across hepatology, gastroenterology, and internal medicine, with work appearing in journals such as the American Journal of Medicine, BMJ Case Reports, and Clinical Liver Disease. Her research has been presented at major national meetings, including AASLD, ACG, and the American College of Physicians, where she has been recognized for excellence in medical research.
Dr. Tey earned her medical degree (M.B.B.S.) from the International Medical University in Malaysia, completed her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Arizona South Campus, and subsequently completed both her Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology fellowships at Loyola University Medical Center. She has been recognized throughout her training with honors, including the AASLD Emerging Liver Scholar Resident Award, the Academic Achievement Award from the University of Arizona College of Medicine, and the Young Achiever Award from the American College of Physicians.
