What is a Liver Scan? 1
The Fibroscan is a non-invasive imaging tool that detects and stages Fatty Liver Disease. It is a great alternative to liver biopsies and captures liver stiffness and scarring (fibrosis) caused by fatty deposits in the liver. It is painless, requires no sedation, and can be done in as little as minutes with immediate results provided by a physician.
What can I expect from my FREE Fibroscan Appointment?
1.) Fasting – with the exception of drinking water – at least 3 hours prior to your appointment is required to get an accurate reading</span>
2.)A non-invasive probe will press against your skin near your ribcage and will measure 3 cm3 volume of liver tissue. The examination volume of the Fibroscan is 100x the size of a typical liver biopsy which helps minimize sampling errors.
3.)Results and finding are reviewed and shared to you by our provider to diagnose your condition during the visit
