What is a FibroScan®?

1 in 3 Americans have Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD), also known as fatty liver disease, or Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatohepatitis (MASH), and many of them may not know it. Arizona Liver Health uses Fibroscan as an alternative to liver biopsy to detect and stage fatty liver disease. It is an ultrasound-based imaging tool that captures liver stiffness and scarring caused by fatty deposits in the liver.

Fibroscan is painless, non-invasive, requires no sedation, and can be done in as little as a few minutes which allows our providers to diagnose a patient’s condition during their visit.

What is a FibroScan?

A FibroScan is a quick, non-invasive liver examination similar to an ultrasound.  It uses vibration-controlled transient elastography technology to assess liver health.  The procedure takes about 10 minutes and delivers instant results.
